Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Our home is located in The Woodlands, Texas, just North of Houston!

Are parents health tested?

All of our parents are genetically health tested for breed specific diseases. All parents also have OFA Hips, Elbows & Heart, PennHIP, and CAER Eyes clearances.

Is my reservation fee refundable?

Reservation fees are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another litter.

How does the reservation list work?

To secure your place on a list, you will need to fill out a puppy application and remit a deposit. You may be placed on one list or multiple, however, only one deposit is required. Once temperament testing is done at 7 weeks, we have a puppy pick day. At your scheduled appointment you will choose your puppy from the available puppies. Keep in mind the earlier you put a deposit down, the higher on the list and the more likely you are to get the exact sex and color you would like.

If you have questions or concerns, do not feel you need to fill out the puppy application to approach us. We are happy to be a resource and answer any lingering questions!

Do you offer payment plans?

Golden Fields Doodles, LLC requires payment to be paid in full before the puppy leaves our ownership. You are able to make as many payments for whatever amount via credit card through our website after your deposit is submitted until your balance is paid. Final payment is due by 6 weeks unless you join the reservation list after that time, in which payment is due before puppy goes home at 8 weeks.

Can I come visit the puppies?

We have scheduled puppy visitation at 5.5/6 weeks. For safety reasons, only children 3 and older are allowed to come to puppy visitation.

When do I get to pick my puppy?

Temperament assessments are done at 7 weeks.  Puppy picks are done after assessments are completed in the order of deposits received.

Can I pick the color and sex of my puppy?

Golden Fields Doodles can not guarantee that the color and sex will be available as the puppies are picked in order of deposits received. We strive to produce healthy, happy puppies with amazing temperaments over specific appearances, although color is a bonus! However, we do allow you to move to another reservation list if the perfect puppy is not available for your family at pick time.

How big will my puppy be?

Mini Australian Labradoodles & Goldendoodles: 20-35lbs

Medium Goldendoodles: 35-50lbs

Standard Goldendoodles: 50+ lbs

*Specific sizes cannot be guaranteed for an adult dog. We estimate puppy adult weight by averaging the weights of their specific parents.

*Buyers must be willing to accept a puppy with the weights and heights only being estimates, as there is the possibility for puppies to be more or less than the estimated weight due to genetics.

Will my puppy be crate and potty trained?

We work through early socialization to get the puppies familiar with a crate, but this does not mean they will not whine – especially those first few nights! We suggest using a snuggle puppy to help your new puppy adjust to using a crate by themselves. Positively associate the crate by allowing your puppy to play “crate-games,” sleep, and take breaks in the crate. You are creating great habits as well as a “safe place” for your puppy by using the crate. It is also helpful house-training & keeping your puppy out of mischeif!

We use a litter box with alfalfa pellets when potty training. The alfalfa is digestable in case the puppies eat it and smells like grass to help associate pottying with outside smells. We reccomend taking your puppy out reguraly and use lots of praise when your pup does potty outside.

Puppies have a head start when they go home but will still need training!

Do you ship puppies?

We do not ship puppies but do offer delivery & Flight Nanny services.  Please inquire if you are interested in this option.

Does my puppy come with papers?

NO. They are considered a mix breed therefore they are not recognized by AKC and can not be registered.
